Covert Devices

The size and quality of covert video/audio devices has improved and these devices are more readily available to private investigators than previously. Audio recorders are available in such items as working pens that look no different from the normal pens used everywhere. With a pen such as this, the client can sign contracts at the very moment he records every word that’s spoken. With no lights or buttons, this pen won’t alert anyone to the fact that it’s recording and many of these can record several hours of data. Covert video/audio recorders can also be purchased that appear to be regular everyday objects such as watches, sunglasses, hats, buttons, jewelry, ties, vehicle key fobs, water bottles, coffee cups, you name it!

Covert cameras can be used in many ways during an investigation. They can be placed in items that sit on the dashboard or rear window of your vehicle for filming in either direction. With these in place, the investigator can leave the vehicle and allow the filming to continue un-assisted. It’s best to use motion-activated cameras, to avoid having to search through hours of recordings to watch the activity you were hoping to capture - if you do! Stationary covert cameras can be placed in other locations to monitor activity.

Cameras are also available for outdoor use, not just to be worn. They can be hidden in rocks, tree branches, lighting fixtures and so on.
